These days, innovations and human creative activity supports the progress of the humankind. To cultivate this tendency the Technology transfer centre of Kurzeme (TTCK) was organized in Ventspils University College. The TTCK is one of the knowledge transfer and commercialization centers in Latvia.
TTCK is located in the new - third building of Ventspils University College. Three persons are working in TTCK from the very beginning. They are: TTCK director, specialist in work with businessmen and director’s assistant.
TTCK main goals are:
To analyze the ability of Engineering research centre of Ventspils University College and Ventspils International Radioastronomy Center to offer businessmen research services in accordance with businessmen needs.
To promote the cooperation between Latvian and European scientists and businessmen.
To obtain patent protection of scientists’ and researchers’ intellectual property.
To promote the research results of the scientists of Ventspils University College, Kurzeme and other Latvian regions to be introduced into manufacturing process.
To initiate the educators, students and graduates of Ventspils University College into research work, technology transfer projects and organization of their own innovative business.
TTCK cooperates with Engineering Research Center of Ventspils University College, Ventspils International radioastronomy center, Ventspils business incubator, Ventspils High Technology Park.
The amount of work is getting bigger. Though TTCK is a new organization, the pace of work is increasing; the new goals are put and achieved.
TTCK is offering these services:
1. Assistance to high-technology enterprises and organizations in the technology transfer on Latvian and international markets.
2. Executing the technology export actions, including negotiating process, concluding the contracts, etc.
3. Methodical and informative support of technology transfer process.
4. Informative support to the enterprises and organizations: publications, conferences, exhibitions.
5. Obtaining patent protection of intellectual property (searching for analogs and prototypes, executing the patent applications, etc.)
